Student Services General Information
BUS TRANSPORTATION
Enrolled students are eligible to receive a bus pass offered by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA). This pass will provide students ridership to and from the College on regularly scheduled UTA bus routes. High school students can access the UTA near their high school or home. To utilize the pass, students need to be enrolled in classes at the College and obtain a student ID card through Student Services.
Students may obtain a UTA bus schedule from the Bookstore.
CAREER CENTER
The Career Guidance Counselors and staff are available to assist individuals with information on careers, labor markets, wages, and job opportunities. The computer-based Choices software is used to help students explore interests and career options.
COLLEGE BOOKSTORE
The College Bookstore offers textbooks and supplemental materials for students enrolled in training programs. Lists of required materials may be obtained from institutional counselors and instructors. Students may sell back books according to the Bookstore Return Policy. Please check with the Bookstore for specific guidelines.

COUNSELING & CAREER GUIDANCE
Qualified Career Guidance Technicians and Certified Career Counselors are available to students and College applicants who are interested in career exploration and career decision making, including training options. Occupational interests, transferrable skills, and other factors that contribute to developing informed training and employment goals can be reviewed with career guidance staff in Student Services. Office Counselors are available to review progress and program issues and to make modifications as needed during the training process. DAVIS SCHOOL DISTRICT (DSD) TRANSITION PROGRAM
The DSD offers a transition program that provides technical tutoring for qualified high school students as identified by the IEP process. To be eligible for transition support, students must be referred by the Transition Specialist and CTE Coordinator at their respective high school. A resource teacher and trackers are available at the College for individual assistance in technical programs.
FOOD SERVICES
The College cafeteria is operated in conjunction with the Culinary Arts Training Program. This is a student training kitchen. The facility is open from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. offering a full range of beverages and food items. Breakfast can be purchased from 7:10 until 9:00 a.m. Lunch is available from 10:40 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. During this time, the facility offers a salad bar, daily lunch specials, specialty sandwiches and short order grill items. Vending service is also available.
PARKING
Parking is allowed only in designated parking stalls as marked. Any vehicle found parked outside marked areas will be subject to being ticketed by Kaysville City Police.
PLACEMENT SERVICES
The College not only provides training in specific job fields but also provides assistance in obtaining employment. Personnel in Placement Services endeavor to provide a match between job openings in local industry and skills developed by students in training. A Workforce Services placement office at the College helps students locate temporary or permanent employment.
A class in Job Search Skills is available in conjunction with training. Its purpose is to refine skills essential to gaining employment and to help students learn job seeking and job keeping skills.
Specific program placement information is available through the College Placement Service Office.
REGIONAL ASSESSMENT CENTER
The Regional Assessment Center provides a variety of services to students at the College as well as to the surrounding community. The Assessment Center assists individuals in making realistic career decisions through career counseling and assessment in order to gain an understanding of themselves and the job market. This provides information needed to make informed career and educational decisions. Available services include the following:
- Academic skills assessment
- General Education Development (GED) testing
- Career interest identification
- Career aptitude assessment
- Occupational information
- Job market information
- Career counseling

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
The purpose of the Student Leadership Council is to coordinate institutional service projects, social and cultural events, student fund-raising, Sub for Santa, student and faculty appreciation day, as well as resource to the administration for policy development.
The Student Leadership Council will consist of a secondary and post-secondary president and Council representatives from the following groups:

Medical Anatomy and Physiology
Transportation Technology
Business Technology
Allied Health
Production Trades
Apprenticeship/ Evening Programs
Manufacturing
Essential Workplace Skills
Student Organization Representative
Office space and an advisor will be assigned to help plan and develop the Student Leadership Council.
A secondary and post-secondary president will be elected in September to represent the students and lead the Council.
STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS and ACTIVITIES
Students are encouraged to join one of the following organizations depending on their chosen program: Skills USA -VICA, Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) , or Professional Business Leaders of America (PBLA).
Community service projects are held on an annual basis. These include donations collected under the Sub-for-Santa program for families needing assistance.
