The Automotive ASE Technician services and maintains all types of automobiles and light trucks. Students must be able to learn and grow with technology changes in the automotive industry. Students will acquire skills to diagnose and repair electrical, computer-controlled, and mechanical systems on modern automobiles and light trucks. They will learn to diagnose and repair computerized engines and body controls, including ignition systems and fuel injection. Students will also gain knowledge of disc and drum brakes and anti-lock braking systems. They will learn steering and suspension systems, four wheel alignments, drive train diagnosis and repairs including manual and automatic transmission, transfer cases, differential and transaxles, U-joints, CV joints, diagnose and repair engines including basic overhauls and major and minor repairs.

Enrollment for this program is year round.

ASE Certifications

The National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications are nationally recognized. These tests are currently given twice a year (in the spring and in the fall). This credential is recognized by employers nationwide and promotes customer trust and helps improve the industry image.

The Automotive ASE Technician courses are National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) certified. NATEF evaluates technician training programs against standards developed by the automotive industry and recommended qualifying programs for certification (accreditation) by ASE. The Automotive ASE Technician courses prepare students to take these ASE certification tests.

      • Suspension & Steering Systems
      • Heating & Air Conditioning

      • Automatic Transmissions & Transaxels

                                    *Students passing all eight (8) certifications will attain the ASE Master Certification.

Automotive ASE Technician Certificate Requirements 
(Core Courses: 648 hours required)

Introduction and Safety - 115 hrs
Technical Essentials - 160 hrs
PM and Basic Service - 283 hrs
Job Seeking Skills - 30 hrs
Workplace Relations - 60 hrs
