Mathematic Skills
At the Davis Applied Technology College, students can strengthen their existing math skills or develop new math skills related to their occupational goals. Students can also take math classes that may meet some math requirements of Weber State University.
Classes are taught using an innovated competency based approach. Students learn math in interactive ways through a combination of individual one-on-one instruction and online training. Students will be able to master mathematics concepts at their own speed and in a manner suited to their individual learning style.
The College offers three math levels: Math I, Math II and Math III.
Math I consists of various types of math classes that meet the mathematical needs for students in different programs at the College, such as Math for Welders, for Machinists, for Health Occupations, etc. After completing Math I students have mastered the mathematical concepts necessary to succeed in their specific program.
Math II and Math III are Elementary and Intermediate Algebra classes. Students will learn to understand and master concepts in Algebra. Upon successful completion of Math II and Math III, students may take their transcripts to Weber State University where Math 1010 credit may be granted.
