The Pharmacy Technician Program is designed to prepare individuals to support pharmacists in a pharmacy setting. This includes pharmacist approved consultation regarding over-the-counter medications and natural products, counter dispensing operations, and prescription preparation; maintaining patient and related health record information; and by performing a wide range of practice-related duties for retail, hospital, home care, mail-order and other pharmacy settings. Special emphasis is placed on preparing the student to take the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification examination and the State of Utah law examination.
Enrollment for this program is year round.
