Class members will go through the first-year plumbing class and receive on-the-job site training by plumbing homes built by the construction trades classes at the area high schools in Davis School District. Students will learn pipefitting, plan reading, job site layouts, fixtures hookup, water piping, drainage piping, finish plumbing, and other related skills.
After completion of the first year, students are eligible to participate in the Davis Applied Technology College Apprenticeship Program.
Enrollment for this program is year round.

State Journeyman Requirements
- Completion of the 4-year Apprenticeship Program
- 8,000 hours on-the-job training as a licensed apprentice
- Licensing with the State of Utah through the Division of Occupational & Professional Licensing (DOPL) requires the student have an employer who is willing and able to sponsor that student as an apprentice
- Completion of 576 classroom hours of related instruction (available at the College)
- Passing the State Journeyman Exam
The College's Plumbing Program offers individuals an opportunity to receive training in a work-like, hands-on atmosphere in all phases of plumbing. Under the direction and instruction of a licensed journeyman plumber, students receive instruction and work experience by plumbing homes that are being built by local area high school construction classes.
For students who are serious about plumbing as a career, the College offers related instruction for the four-year State Certified Apprenticeship Program.
