The Davis Applied Technology College Nursing Program is an example of the unique partnerships developed with Weber State University (WSU). The Practical Nursing (PN) Program is offered by the College. Weber State University's PN to RN program is also available at the Kaysville campus and is taught by the shared instructors who are responsible for both programs. Nurses use scientific knowledge and the nursing process to make decisions which meet the physiological, psychological, and sociological needs of patients. This program teaches direct bedside care as nurses work in cooperation with other members of the health care team. Areas of education include physiology, chemistry, psychology, microbiology, human growth and development, nutrition, mental health, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatric nursing, management, and community nursing. Classroom theory is provided concurrently with a variety of clinical practice situations. For additional information, contact the Nursing Program at (801) 593-2341. Special Requirements: * Open to high school graduates or GED. * Applicants must have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA). * High school GPA will be used if applicant does not have 15 credits of college course work.
